Sustainability
Starts With You
DICAN, as its name implies, is a network of people and committees who come together to promote awareness, host events and initiate projects that are related to climate change. Letter writing cafes, repair cafes, Earth Day projects, plastic reduction workshops, student climate signs, articles in local papers and energy efficiency improvement projects like adding a heat pump to the Denman Old School are some examples of the things DICAN has spearheaded.

POP UP BICYCLE REPAIR CAFÉ AT SATURDAY MARKET
Kasian Starchuk-Russel of Barnacle Bikes is pleased to offer a free bicycle repair workshop on August 22nd during Saturday Market.
Bring your bike and any parts you need and let Kasian show you how. He will provide basic tools, but if you can bring a flathead and Phillips screwdriver that will help. And a bike pump if you have one.
Specific wrenches are 8,9 and 10(metric) and 14 and 15 sockets and Allan keys 3-6. But don't let a lack of tools keep you from attending, there will be some on hand.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
